Being a Leader!!

what you do

You are only as good as what you do not what you say. The minute you sign someone up you are a leader, a mentor, and someone else depends on you! As your team begins to grow your responsibilities grow. You set the tone for the kind of leader you want to be and the kind of person that people look up to. You can either collect a pay check or impact others in a great way! Here are some tips I believe are hugely valuable if your goal is to make an impact and create a legacy.

1) Be There! It sounds simple but I can promise you it’s not that black and white! As you grow and your team grows it tends to get so difficult to physically be there for everyone. This is why it’s so important that your vision gets passed onto the people in your first couple levels. Keeping everything you do simple and duplicatable will be very important! But that isn’t the only thing. .. it’s also teaching your team to be good people. To care about others! To build relationships. Remember, whatever you do with them is what they will know do with anyone they sign so keep it real, be sincere, and work with everyone. Above everything let people know where you stand and what will not be tolerated right out of the gate!

2) Don’t assume. When you’re dealing with people and personalities (which is all this is pretty much) you’re going to have issues. People may bump heads and some may not mesh! In fact there may be even people who aren’t your cup of tea! Whatever happens never forget you are not put in this business or on this earth to judge others! Everyone deserves amazing things and everyone deserves respect. Your role as a leader must never take sides and always be fair. Don’t listen to gossip and never take someone else’s story until you hear all sides! Above everything go to the source and never just take someone’s word about what someone else did. I speak from 4 years of experience when I tell you that 99% of the time you’re not getting the whole story unless you find out truths on your own. Never get involved and pass any judgments ever until you give everyone the respect they deserve and ask them. Your job is peace maker and not a BS taker! NOT IN YOUR HOUSE!

3) What would you want in a leader? I tell every one of my leaders to sit down and write on a piece of paper what they would want in a leader! Look at someone they admire and write down the qualities they love about that person. Then once a month go through their list and ask themselves “am I being the leader for others that I would want for myself? ” If that answer is “No”, then where are you lacking and where do you need to work harder? After all why does anyone deserve less out of you then you would want for yourself? ALWAYS BE THE BEST LEADER YOU CAN AND BE THAT LEADER YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF! You can never go wrong or disappoint anyone of your giving them the best!

4) Your going to make mistakes! We are human and no matter how perfect we believe we are, we will still make mistakes! A great leader admits and then learns! A great leader doesn’t have to be right! A great leader will take the short end of the stick. A great leader doesn’t need to take credit. A great leader would gladly step aside to let a team member shine! Constantly be learning and growing and self developing. .. that is the only way to be great!

5) Set an example!  My favorite leadership saying is “I would never ask anyone on my team to do anything I wouldn’t do myself! ” this is so true. The most respected leaders are the ones that walk the walk. They get out there every day and show people what to do instead of telling them what to do. No one likes a leader that orders people around. Walk right along side your team not behind or in front. ..right along side. You need to be out blitzing, wrapping, repeating, attending trainings, getting on calls, and in the trenches every single day! That is where you will get the most out of your team. A great exercise is to take about 30 minutes each night and reflect over your day! Write down all the things that worked and you were proud of and then write down things that you feel didn’t go well and you would like to do differently next time around! This is a great way to learn from any mistakes and grow. It’s also a great way to see what you did that worked so you can do more of it! Reflecting will play a huge role in your leadership journey!

I hope you will read through this again very carefully and take it to heart, because is an important part of your journey on leadership and self discovery. Thanks for being amazing!

Why I do what I do!!

022

This is on of my personal before and after pictures from one wrap. Can you say amazing??
I love sharing these amazing products with moms like me who want to feel better about themselves. Being a mom, a lot of times we forget to take time for ourselves. It’s all about the kids and their needs. When we need to be taking care of us. Lets face it, when mom is sick or down and out, or even just doesn’t feel like herself, everyone suffers. Our wraps have helped me feel so much better about myself. Not to mention our other amazing products. I love wrapping a mom for the first time, and seeing her face when she sees her results. Or having a mom or dad who is one of my loyal customers calling me or messaging me all excited because our amazing products have helped them lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. That’s what this business and these amazing products are all about. Helping people get healthy and feel great about themselves, and for those who choose to start their own business helping them take charge of their lives and own their own time, and get out of debt.

Our Greens have helped me in so many ways. They give me so much energy, so that I can get through the day. And even better, they are my 8+ servings of fruit and veggies for the day. Which lets face it, some days I forget to feed myself. We get busy changing diapers, cleaning up messes, playing with the kids, and feeding the kids, that we forget to eat ourselves. So when I drink my Greens I feel a lot better knowing that I’m at least getting nutrients and supper-foods, and even detoxing and alkalizing my body too.

They grow up so fast.

When I started with It Works! I worked a part time/full time job. I say both because I worked 5 days a week but I didn’t work 40 hours a week. But I started It Works! to bring in extra money so eventually I wouldn’t have to work that job, and I could be home with our 3 kids. Then April of last year I started getting pains in my lower back and down my leg. By July the pain got really bad to where I could hardly walk or bend on certain days. Mind you I worked as a receptionist at a hair salon. I was on my feet all day long, also bending to get towels out of the dryer to fold and also bending to dust the retail shelves. At the end of July I left work one morning and headed to the Emergency Room. They checked to make sure I didn’t have a blood clot because I have a blood clotting disorder. Thank God I didn’t, but there was still a problem and they didn’t know what it was. They told me I had a strained hamstring and send me home with pain meds, told me to go see a physical therapist, and to stay off my feet as much as possible for 2 weeks. Which meant no work.

I didn’t know what we were going to do to pay our bills. We were over $10,000 in credit card debt, and had everyday bills and 3 kids to make sure they had everything that they needed plus food on the table. So I went and saw a Physical Therapist and he said that it wasn’t my hamstring, that I was out of line by an inch and a half. He realigned me and showed me how to do it at home by myself of with  my husbands help. And he told me to go see an Orthopedic specialist. So I made that appointment. Keep in mind that my husband has great insurance through his work but there are still co-pays to pay for each doctors visit.  So there was more money that I had to come up with for each visit. I went to an Orthopedic specialist and they did X-rays and said everything was fine besides for me being out of line, but didn’t think that was my problem and still wanted me off of my feet as much as possible. So they sent me for a MRI and to Physical Therapy two times a week for 5 weeks. So right there was a lot of money each week for co-pays. My MRI films finally came back and I had my appointment with the Orthopedic for her to go over what they found. She told me ” There is nothing wrong with your spine, some people just suffer from nerve pain. Go see Pain Management.” I about lost it. To me if felt like she thought I was faking my problems. At this point I was out of work for at least 3-4 months, and of course lost my job due to not being about to work. I found a new Orthopedic Specialist. I took my MRI films to the new doctor and told him everything that was going on, and he looked at my films. He looked for not even 5 minutes and said ” for one you have a herniated disc here, and also you have scoliosis, but I don’t think these things are causing your pain down your leg.” Then he ordered a CT scan of my lower back and a MRI of my hips and pelvis area. Those films came back and still nothing to answer the pain down my leg. Then I had an epidural spinal block done, no relief. Then I had two nerve blocks to my sciatic joint, with no relief. At this point I’ve been out of work for about 7-8 months. I was then sent to John’s Hopkins Hospital for a MRI Neurogram. Still with no answers. So that brings us to now. I am now waiting on a doctor from China or Japan to look at my Neurogram films to see if he sees anything that could be going on. My dr is planning to do a discogram to see if the pain is actually coming from my disc. So right now it’s another waiting game.

But back on topic. Why I’m saying “They grow up so fast” Is because my reason for starting my It Works! business was to eventually be making enough that I wouldn’t have to work anymore. If it wasn’t for It Works! I don’t know where my family would be. I sold wraps to pay my co-pays at the doctors. And even with me being off work for almost a year now, we were still able to pay off over $10,000 in credit card debt. And with me not working my J.O.B. (just over broke) and working my It Works! business from home we are way better now than we were when I was working that J.O.B. Yes I do events and parties, but I only do them when I am physically able to. And my business allows me to do so.

When I worked my job I missed my daughters soccer games, or I had to take off work to attend them meaning that I didn’t get paid. I missed our youngest daughter’s (and last child’s) first steps because I had to work. I missed so many milestones in our kids first years because I had to work. Now our oldest is 11 and finishing up the 5th grade, which means she will be going to middle school next year. I just got a paper yesterday talking about the plans for their 5th grade graduation. And it feels so good knowing that I don’t have to take off work, or even ask to have off work, to be able to go and see her walk across that stage. My baby girl is growing up and I don’t have to miss it anymore.

And our son (middle child) is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten in August and I wont have to miss him getting on the bus for the first time. And right now we are working on his writing and numbers and letters. And it feels so good knowing that I am helping him, not someone else.  And our youngest daughter (and last) is two and will be 3 in September. With her being the youngest and last there are so many things that I’m not missing out on that I had to with the other two. We are working on potty training, and she’s learning her ABC’s and counting.

It just feels amazing knowing that I don’t have to go to a job everyday. That I don’t have to answer to anyone (besides my kids lol) I am my own boss, I make my own hours. And that’s called FREEDOM!!!

This Valentine’s Day

This Valentine's Day

A time to think.
Open your heart to the love God instills…
God loves you tenderly. What he gives you is not to be kept under lock and key, but to be shared. – Mother Teresa

A Time to Act.
Reach out and help someone by sharing your love and time.

A Time to Pray.
On this Valentine’s Day, as we share tokens of affection from our hearts with those we love, we remember that You are the lover of our soul.

I love what I do

This month has been so busy and is flying by. Not only am I going for a few promotions this month, including a $10,000 bonus, but we are also potty training our 2 year old daughter. She is really doing well. I believe that she is has been the easiest so far.

So between working my business, adding new team members and helping them grow their business and getting them trained, and their business launched, potty training Peyton, and don’t forget all of the snow days. February has been a busy and AMAZING month so far.. I’ve got so many parties already scheduled for the weekends, and a few meetings during the week in the evenings.

I enjoy doing parties.  Not just because of the amazing wrap cash, but also because it gives me a chance to get out of the house and around other women.  So I get adult time. lol  Yes I love my children to death, but some days, I just need to have someone else to talk to besides conversations with Aaden (our 5 year old son) and Peyton (our 2 year old daughter).

Doing wrap parties and individual wrap sessions make me so happy. I love seeing the reactions on peoples faces when I take their wrap off, and put their before and after pictures side by side.  Theirs nothing like seeing instant results, and helping people change their lives. Lets face it, spring is right around the corner.  And who doesn’t want to get back into that bikini?
